The Bengals are no longer shutout of the Pro Bowl, as wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has been named to the AFC team, replacing New England's Wes Welker on the roster. It is Ochocinco's sixth Pro Bowl selection in nine seasons, tying him with former Bengals cornerback Lemar Parrish for second-most in team history. Anthony Munoz was selected to 11 Pro Bowls.
The Pro Bowl will be played Jan. 31 in Ochocinco's native South Florida. The game will be played at Land Shark Stadium in South Florida, home of the Miami Dolphins and this year's Super Bowl.
"This is extremely great news," Ochocinco said in a statement released by the team. "I appreciate the recognition of the body of work I put in this season. But please let me share with my teammates. Cedric Benson -- none of it would have happened without him. And Carson (Palmer) and my offensive line and everybody. I love you all."
Ochocinco was originally a second alternate. The first alternate at wide receiver, New England's Randy Moss, also pulled out of the game due to injury.
Ochocino had 72 catchers for 1,047 yards and nine touchdowns in 2009. He made the Pro Bowl in 2003-07 seasons.
