Blasi has led the RedHawks to a 27-7-7 record and the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.

MIAMI CLEANS UP AT CCHA AWARDS: Sophomore goaltender Cody Reichard was named the conference's player of the year. Reichard is 18-4-3 with an NCAA-best 1.79 goals-against average.

Reichard was unbeaten in conference play, and set the all-time CCHA record for lowest GAA in conference play.

-- Sophomore Will Weber was named the league's top defensive defenseman. He has a goal and nine assists this season.

-- Junior Tommy Wingels was honored as the CCHA's best defensive forward. Wingels has rolled up 17 goals and 25 assists for a career-best 42 points, and he has a plus-18 rating.

-- Freshman defenseman Joe Hartman was named to the all-rookie team. Hartman leads all Miami defensemen with six goals, and he leads the RedHawks with two shorthanded goals.

-- Senior forward Jarod Palmer was named first-team all-CCHA. Palmer leads the team in assists (27), points (45) and plus-minus (27).

POINTS STREAK ENDS: Wingels extended his points streak to four games with a goal on Friday, but he was kept off the scoresheet on Saturday.

Wingels had a goal and five assists in that span.

KNAPP SACKING OPPONENTS: Sophomore goalie Connor Knapp has allowed just two goals in his last three starts, including a win over Ferris State in the CCHA consolation game last Saturday.

In his last four appearances - which include a relief outing last Friday - he has stopped 59 of 61 shots. He has a 6-1-1 record in his last eight starts.

VO-GOAL-HUBER: Sophomore Trent Vogelhuber continued his second-half scoring surge, netting his sixth goal in 11 games on Friday.

Vogelhuber scored only two goals in the first 29 games of the season.

POWER OUTAGE: Miami struggled on special teams in its last four games before the NCAA Tournament.

The RedHawks have scored just once in 20 power play chances, including 1-for-13 at Joe Louis Arena.

Miami killed just 13 of 17 penalties during that stretch after going perfect on the PK in its previous three games.

SLUMPBUSTING: Sophomore defenseman Chris Wideman went seven straight games without recording a point prior to last weekend, but he recorded three assists at Joe Louis Arena.

Saturday was the second two-assist game of the season for Wideman.

HETLAND HELPER: Senior forward Dane Hetland equaled his career high by recording his third assist of the season on Saturday.

Hetland did not score a point in either of the last two seasons, but he recorded three assists as a freshman in 2006-07.

MASON CUP: Freshman forward Steve Mason has not played much this season, but he has been effective when he has dressed.

Mason scored the first goal of his career on Saturday, the first game he had played since Feb. 19 vs. Nebraska-Omaha. He dished for an assist in that game, giving his a two-game point streak.

Overall, Mason has a goal and two assists in just six games.

100-POINT CLUB: Palmer remained in 12th place on Miami's all-time scoring list after notching a goal on Saturday. He has 137 career points, and is one point behind Mike Kompon for 11th.

Junior center Carter Camper was held scoreless over the weekend. He remains in 24th with 121 career points.

Wingels had one point, giving him 99 for his career.
