Miami senior forward Jarod Palmer and sophomore defenseman Chris Wideman were honored by the CCHA for their performance over the weekend.

Palmer, who recorded back-to-back three-point games and notched the game winner on Friday, was named Offensive Player of the Week.

Wideman scored a goal both nights, and he dished for two assists on Saturday to earn Defensive Player of the Week.

MORE ON PALMER: Prior to last weekend, no Miami player had consecutive games with three or more points, but Palmer currently has a three-game three-point streak.

Palmer dished for three assists in the series finale vs. Lake Superior State, recorded two goals and an assist in the 3-2 win over Bowling Green last Friday and then scored once and set up two other goals in the RedHawks' 10-2 win on Saturday.

Palmer also tied his career high in points with 35, which a mark he set his sophomore season.

MORE ON WIDEMAN: Wideman scored in both games over the weekend, giving him giving him goals in consecutive games for the first time in his career.

Wideman's three-point game on Saturday equaled a career high that he set on Dec. 7, 2008 vs. Western Michigan.

GOING STREAKING: Junior forwards Tommy Wingels and Carter Camper both had seven-game point streaks entering last weekend, the longest by any Miami player, but they were kept off the scoresheet on Friday.

However, Palmer and junior center Andy Miele recorded points in both games, extending their points streaks to seven.

Palmer has five goals and eight assists during his streak, and Miele has gone 4-10-14 in that stretch.

HOT MIELE: On Saturday, Miele became the first RedHawk to record four assists in a game.

No other Miamian had consecutive games with multiple assists going into last weekend's series, but Miele now has two or more assists in three straight games. Miele had two helpers in the finale vs. Lake Superior State and added two more in the Friday game at Bowling Green.

FIRST MULTI-POINT GAME: Sophomore forward Trent Vogelhuber finished Saturday's game with a goal and an assist, the first multi-point game of his career.

Vogelhuber had two goals in the first 29 games this season, but has now scored in two of the last three.

THE SMITHS -- LOUDER THAN BOMBS: Senior forward Brandon Smith had the first two-goal game of his career on Saturday. Smith only had two goals in his career entering this season.

Freshman forward Reilly Smith (no relation) also netted a pair of goals on Saturday, tying him with Wingels and Miele for the team lead in multi-goal games with three.

GOALIE MILESTONES: Sophomore Cody Reichard earned his 25th career win on Friday, and sophomore Connor Knapp picked up win No. 20 on Saturday.

Despite being second-year players, Reichard is already ninth all-time in Miami wins, and Knapp is 10th.

100-POINT CLUB: Thanks to a six-point weekend, Palmer shot up the all-time Miami points leaderboard. Palmer moved up eight spots to 15th all-time with 127 points (42 goals, 85 assists).

Palmer passed John Ciotti, Dave McClintock, Ken House, Jason Deskins, Bill Easdale, Greg Lukas, Jeff Sisto and current head coach Enrico Blasi.

Camper only had one point on an assist Saturday, which ties him with Bobby Marshall and Marty Guerin for 29th with 115 points.

Wingels, who had a pair of assists on Saturday, moved to within 10 points of becoming the 45th member of the list. Junior Pat Cannone is at 87 points and Miele 79.
