Notes: Wingels' points streak reaches 7 games

Junior forward Tommy Wingels extended his points streak to seven games last weekend, the longest by any Miamian this season.

The feat is even more impressive considering the RedHawks only scored two goals on the weekend. Wingels has six goals and five assists in that span.

Wingels also has an assist in four consecutive games, a team high on the season.

POWER SURGE: Miami scored power-play goals in both games over the weekend, extending the RedHawks' streak of games with a PPG to five. Miami was 2-for-14 with the man advantage vs. Robert Morris, and is 9 of 28 during its streak.

FALLING SHORT: Robert Morris scored shorthanded against Miami on Friday, recording just the second SHG the RedHawks have allowed this season.

The other goal Miami surrendered while on the power play was against North Dakota on Nov. 28.

NON-CONFERENCE STRUGGLES: Miami won its first three non-conference games of the season, but the RedHawks are winless in their last five (0-3-2) since.

Miami swept St. Cloud State at home to open the season, then beat New Hampshire on Oct. 16. But Miami tied its second game against UNH, lost to Bemidji State and tied North Dakota before last weekend's sweep.

RARE LOSING STREAK: Miami's losing streak is its first of the season. The last time the RedHawks dropped consecutive games was March 14-15, 2009 when Northern Michigan won back-to-back games to knock Miami out of last season's CCHA Tournament.

100-POINT CLUB UPDATE: Senior forward Jarod Palmer was kept off the scoresheet in both games over the weekend, but junior center recorded a goal and an assist to give him 103 career points.

With 44 goals and 59 assists, Camper is now 42nd all-time in Miami scoring. Palmer remains 35th with 110 career points.

Here's a look at Miami's 100-point scorers near Palmer and Camper:
