Despite not playing for 22 days, Miami is still on top of all three major national college hockey polls.
The RedHawks have been ranked No. 1 in the U.S. College Hockey Online and USA Today polls all season. This is the 10th poll of the season and the first since Dec. 14 because of the holiday break.
Miami briefly dropped out of the top spot in the Inside College Hockey poll, but is back to No. 1 for the second straight poll.
-- Denver is No. 2 in the INCH poll, followed by Yale, Wisconsin and Colorado College.
-- Miami received 45 of 50 first-place votes in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll, with second-place Denver earning the other five. The RedHawks got 48 votes in the last poll of 2009.
The RedHawks leads Denver, 995-952 in voting points. The 43-point lead is down from their margin of 98 in the previous poll.
Colorado College, Wisconsin and North Dakota are third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
-- In the USA Today poll, Miami received 33 of 34 first-place votes with Denver getting the other - the same split as the last poll.
On Dec. 14, the RedHawks held a 40-point lead in voting, but that dropped to 32 this week, 509-477 over No. 2 Denver. Colorado College, Wisconsin and North Dakota hold the Nos. 3-5 spots.
