With his shutout on Friday, sophomore Cody Reichard is now second in the country in goals-against average and tied for the NCAA lead in wins.

Reichard's GAA dropped to 1.45 after posting a 3-0 blanking of Western Michigan over the weekend. He is tied with Alaska sophomore Scott Greenham and Colorado College freshman Joe Howe with eight wins.

Reichard is also third in the country in save percentage at .936. Junior Marc Cheverie of Denver leads both GAA (1.19) and save percentage (.961), and Benidji State sophomore Dan Bakala is second in save percentage (.938).

Bakala will likely be in net when Miami plays Bemidji State on Friday.

As a team, Miami is second nationally in team defense, allowing 1.71 goals per game. Bemidji State is first at 1.67.

THE KILLERS: The RedHawks are ranked seventh in the country in penalty killing at 89.6 percent, but they're still fourth in the CCHA.

Notre Dame (4th), Ferris State (5th) and Michigan (6th) are all ahead of Miami.

And with their two shorthanded goals over the weekend, Miami moved into an eight-way tie for third with three on the season.

SERIAL KILLERS: Miami has taken 113 minor penalties this season, the second-most of any team in the NCAA. Only Alaska-Anchorage (126) has taken more two-minute penalties this season.

The RedHawks are tied for sixth in overall penalty minutes (245), and they're 12th in PIM per game (17.5).

POP-UP CAMPER: Junior Carter Camper scored Miami's lone goal on Saturday, and he broke a 10-game streak without a tally.

Camper had not scored since Oct. 16, when he netted a pair at New Hampshire.

HAPPY 30TH: Junior captain Tommy Wingels' shorthanded goal on Friday was the 30th marker of his career.

Wingels, whose goal this weekend was his fourth of the season, scored 15 as a freshman and 11 in 2008-09.

HOT MIELE: Junior Andy Miele netted two goals on Friday, giving him four in his last five games after notching one in his first nine.

Miele was held without a point on Saturday, breaking a four-game point streak. He still has six points in his last five games, and has recorded a point in 11 of Miami's 14 games this season.

100-POINT CLUB UPDATE: Senior Jarod Palmer had one assist over the weekend, giving him 105 career points. That moves him into 39th place all-time among Miamians.

Greg Dornbach and Randy Robitaille are tied for 37th with 106 points.

Camper's goal was his 93rd career point.
