PHOENIX -- I know at least one person is watching the videos I put up, because we watch it together. The other day Yonder Alonso asked if I'd put video up yet from when I taped him in the cage. I told him I had and pulled out my iPhone and watched it from there. He said he told his dad to go CNati to see the video. He also told me he bought the CNati iPhone app, so that's cool.

* One thing I forgot to put in yesterday, it's just one of those funny baseball things, but Jonny Gomes was talking to somebody about how if you throw with a guy on the first day of camp you're making a commitment. It was just delivered well and pretty funny. Too bad I can't do it justice.

No matter what you think of the Gomes signing, you have to know that he does improve the team in the clubhouse. The guy is phenomenal there. I was talking to him about this yesterday, and he said he can't control everything on the field, but he can controll how he behaves towards teammates and other people he comes across. He said his career would be a success if he's remembered as a good teammate. I don't have any doubt most of the guys who have played with Gomes will tell you that he's been the ultimate teammate.

* FanHouse's Jeff Fletcher looks at Dusty Baker's reputation as an arm killer. He makes two points, Baker's pitchers do consistently throw more pitches in games than the average and no matter what happens from here on out, he will always have that reputation.

* OMGReds is looking good in this awesome t-shirt.

* I honestly can't believe it's taken this long to get a hot dog shooting lawsuit.

I remember years ago when I was covering the Braves that Andruw Jones said someone had threatened to sue him after he threw a ball into the stands at the end of an inning. The person wasn't paying attention and got hit. The case was later dropped, but it's something I've always remembered. That's why if a ball ever comes into the press box, I don't drop it into the stands. I just can't affort to take that risk.

* I'm fascinated by the situation with Cleveland's Shin-Soo Choo and his Korean military obligation.

* Colleges that send the most players to the big leagues.

* The art of the ballpark seat. My friend Marc Lancaster has some Tiger Stadium seats, and I'm jealous. I love old ballpark seats.

* A great column about advanced stats and TV broadcasts by John Sciambi.

* Ozzie Guillen has joined the Twitter. I'm already following him.

* Sean Miller took a swipe at Mick Cronin. Miller may have been wrong to say what he said, but what he said wasn't wrong.

* A history of desgregation in sports.

* The New Yorker reviews the new Johnny Cash American Recordings album.

* Variety did not like Kevin Smith's new movie Cop Out.

I love signing Gomes. He put up some good numbers last year, and that was in part time action. I'm not sure Balentine, Nix, or Dickerson could've maintained the offense he did if they played comparable time.

I've got 4 Riverfront Stadium blue seats in my house!

Great shirts from CNati! Thanks for adding the "girl" styles so quickly--have one on the way to me right now.

T-7 vs T-32 :-P

Great coverage Trent, and nice I-pod app. You should add a way to make comments from the app.
