Wow -- how about Brian Kelly and the Bearcats?
No matter what happens, BK has a plan. Tony Pike's Heisman shot is probably shot, but the Bearcats' title hopes are still alive.
This is an amazing squad and amazing story.
I'll be interested to see how Zach Collaros does with a full gameplan -- that can be better for him or tougher. The response, either way, will be interesting.
Also, make sure you check out all the great coverage from CNATI's Paul Dehner Jr.
* I don't think you can question Tony PIke's toughness -- or the toughness of this squad.
* The bandwagon is just about full as the Louisville game is sold out.
I know some want to kick the Bearcats out of Nippert and into Paul Brown, but I think Nippert can be one of the special places in college football if done right. It's historic (as in old), has charm and is small enough to make it feel like each of the 35,000 are on top of you. I also love the view of the CCM building.
I've been to games all over the SEC, as well as several other places, and the Nip is still one of my faves.
* BoDog.com sent me some new odds -- the Bengals' new over/under for wins is 10. It was 6 1/2 at the beginning of the season (and I do believe I mentioned I'd take the over). But more interesting, the odds that Carson Palmer will lead another game-winning drive in the last two minutes in the regular season? 1/2 odds he will, 7/5 he won't. I'd put some money on him doing it -- just to see.
* The Reds' first-round pick from last season made his pro debut on Thursday, throwing two scoreless innings on 46 pitches.
* The NBA's rulebook changes the most basic of basketball rules -- traveling.
* I'm likely to be in the minority, but I think the Vancouver Winter Olympics medals look really cool.
* Alan Sepinwall takes to task the 24-hour news cycle and the TV coverage of balloon boy. It's tough to disagree with any word he writes.
* How about a tax break for pet owners?
* I know it's cool (or is it anti-cool?) to bash Bootsy Collins among certain sets in this town without understanding his part in musical history. Learn why he's a reason to think Cincinnati is cool, as Collins talked to NPR's Fresh Air about King Records on Thursday. You can listen to it here and on Sunday, head to Shake-It Records in Northside for a signing by John Hartley Fox for his book King of the Queen City: The Story of King Records
* I'd like Mick Jagger to hire me -- do whatever I want and get paid whatever I want.
* If you're my age (very nearly 34) you may have been big on the whole grunge scene -- and one of its heroes was Mark Arm of Mudhoney.
* It's really been 10 years since Fight Club came out? I remember seeing the previews and having no idea what the heck it was supposed to be -- and then seeing it on DVD.
* I've had all sorts of things from Japanese vending machines, but never curry.
* Fellow Top Chef fans, here's an interview with Ash.

I thought Collaros looked great, and with the next three games those guys have coming up, he should fill the void just fine until Tony comes back.
I'm from Lexington, so I didn't even know that it was cool to trash Bootsy in Cincy, but that's ridiculous. The man made James Brown who he was (I said it). Unless it's also cool there to dig on James Brown, then people have no place to do it to Bootsy, regardless of his bizarre personality.
Changing the rule on traveling in the NBA... they actually had a rule? Wow.. could have fooled me.
New medals for Olympics... actually sounds pretty good to me.
Balloon Boy story....made fools out of the media and gave the family another 15 minutes of fame. Wouldn't surprise me if it was not planned.
Top Chef and Ash... who in their right mind would not want to dine with Padma ....sigh!
RE:Balloon Boy - I don't think the family staged it as much as I think the boy was trying to escape his family due to the shame of knowing that his parents did "Wife Swap" (I keed, I keed)
Can they add luxury boxes to Nippert? Gotta have those for the big donors with the deep pockets.
I agree stay on campus if it all possible.
I've been to WVU-Pitt at Heinz and I think it will always be Pitt playing at the Steelers stadium.
