brutusA year ago today, I picked up this guy from a rescue group. Every day since then, I've been glad he's here. He's kinda like his owner, sometimes he's going 100 miles per hour, and when he's not, he's at zero. Neither of us likes anything more than curling up on the couch, watching baseball and cuddling. Sometimes he just won't shut up and he seems to like to hear himself bark. All in all, I love the little guy. * Former Indiana receiver Andrew Means is now  with the Dayton Dragons. He very well may be the fastest player in baseball. * Jason Whitlock talks about George Brett's outburst and mentions that Brett didn't say "oh the media is too tough" -- what he was saying was that some in the Kansas City media (and in Cincinnati, it's like that too, but there's nowhere near the outlets or voices in Cincinnati that there are in Kansas City because it's such a big city and we're little ol' Cincinnati) are idiots and don't have the balls to stand behind their words. * As I'm linking the Kansas City Star's columnists -- notice how they have more than one, amazing -- Joe Posnanski writes about how he doesn't believe in the Sports Illustrated curse. Which, of course, he has to put out there since he wrote the cover story on his hometown of Cleveland. * If I weren't already headed to Cleveland on June 15 for Ricky Vaughn Bobblehead night, I'd head to Kansas City on June 16 for this awesome shirt that's the giveaway that night: ace * I Twittered this yesterday (@ctrent if you're not one of the followers yet...) but Pearl Jam's Mike McCready playing the national anthem on Tuesday night: * Man Vs. Food will visit the Charleston RiverDogs. I like his show, I was wondering if there's any eating challenges in Cincinnati he could do? Is there some monster 3-way somewhere? (Yeah, I know...) * There are apparently a ton of typos on the Stanley Cup * A cool map of the settings of various sitcoms. Best Ohio sitcom? My rankings are: 1. WKRP In Cincinnati 2. Family Ties 3. The Drew Carey Show 4. Third Rock from the Sun * If you have Sirius/XM, get ready for a whole lot of the Cure this weekend * The New York Times Magazine profiles Conan O'Brien * Bad reviews for Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds is getting bad reviews at Cannes * When's the best time during a movie to go to the bathroom? RunPee.com tells you when to go. An iPhone app would make a lot of sense.

Love that Royals T-Shirt. Gotta get one.

CTR, I was laid off this year as well, and I don't know how I'd endure my boring days at home without my Golden Retriever Hurley (who, by the way, turns a year old today). Enjoy your extra time with your dog while you can. I know Hurley and I will certainly miss each other when I find work again.

My Fiancee works for the Royals so I get all the giveaways. I can see about getting you a Greinke shirt CTR. I wish I could be in Cleveland for the Vaughn bobblehead night though. I am kind of the opposite of you...a lifelong Reds fan now becoming a fan of the Royals.

Never too late in the day for TOL. Loved the sitcom locator map. I wasn't wrong back then: Mary Tyler Moore was smokin' in the early '60s.
